WHAT IS MUD CHALLENGER?

Mud Challenger is the premiere obstacle course adventure running series with an unpredictable course, strategically designed obstacles and a signature after party held in the best locations around the United States. Did you say unpredictable? That’s right, our entire course and obstacles are a secret.  Gather your friends, start your team, and experience Mud Challenger together. You’ll leave with an amazing story to share.

WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPATE?

You must be at least 14 YEARS OLD on the day of the event to participate in a Mud Challenger event. Your parents must complete the release/waiver and be present when you check-in on event day. Select events also host a Kid’s Challenge. Specific details for your event are posted on the event page.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER?

A volunteer sign-up link is provided on each event page. You won’t regret the awesome time and free swag! Click here for more details!

WHAT KIND OF SHAPE SHOULD I BE IN?

Truth is, anyone who is phsyically active can probably do a Mud Challenger. Anyone with the right mindset can do Mud Challenger. If you can run a 5k, you should not have any problem with our course. Keep in mind that all obstacles have an optional pass. There is no shame in passing an obstacle if you don’t feel safe. We suggest you consult your physician before participating, just to make sure you can handle it.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Sorry, leave Toto at home. Pets are not permitted at any Mud Challenger event.

WHAT OBSTACLES WILL BE AT MY EVENT?

Nice try. Mud Challenger is an unpredictable obstacle course challenge. We never publish a list of obstacles for any event, making our course even better. We can, however, guarantee that there will be mud, fire, water, and ice at most events.  If you feel unsafe about any obstacle, you can always pass.

THE EVENT SOLD OUT BEFORE I BOUGHT A TICKET, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Sorry. If an event is sold out, that means your Mud Challenger™ event has reached full capacity and we are unable to allow any more registrations for that day. In some circumstances, we may open a second day.

HOW MUCH DOES MUD CHALLENGER COST?

Mud Challenger™ events offer discounts for early registration. The earlier you register, the more you will save. You can view your event page for complete a complete pricing and deadline calendar.

WHO CAN DO THIS?

We have people of all shapes and sizes, ages, and from all walks of life participate in Mud Challenger! From 76 year old grandmas, to those who are trying to get in shape! Come and join the fun, get muddy, and make this one of your adventures!

SHOULD I CREATE A TEAM?

WHAT IS MUD CHALLENGER SHOE DONATION?

Through Mud Challenger™, Fathom Positive Impact collects unwanted sneakers to raise money for great causes, and provides them to needy locations around the world. Feel free to bring extra sneakers for donation to help this great cause. Only sneakers are accepted.

CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION?

Yes. You can Defer your registration to any future event that is open for registration. You may also Transfer your registration to another person. Transfer deadlines and fees may apply.

HOW CAN I CHECK TO SEE IF I AM REGISTERED?

If you did not receive a confirmation email: First, check your spam settings and resend it through the link in the Registration Center. If you have further questions, you may contact Mud Challenger Support.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY ENTRY?

Each Mud Challenger™ entry includes Adventure Course Entry, Official Finisher’s Medal, Official Challenge T-Shirt, Free Beer, Official Number Tag, Action Photography, Our Signature AfterParty Access! Time to Live life to the fullest!

MILITARY / VETERAN DISCOUNTS?

Yes. We are proud to provide active military and veteran discounts to participants at all events. Veterans and active military are eligible to receive a discount. In order to claim your discount, you select the military affiliation option during registration. Additionally, you must provide your military ID or DD214 at the time of check in. Discounts refunds will be processed within 2 weeks of the event. These discounts are non-transferable and valid only on event day. Discounts that are not claimed on event day (when the participant checks-in) will be forfeited. Refund Discounts will not granted if a discount code was used.

DO I HAVE TO REGISTER ONLINE?

Yes. You must register online. We are unable to accept any participant registrations at the event.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

Sorry. Due to the magnitude and logistics of producing an event like Mud Challenger, we are unable to provide refunds. However, you can transfer your registration up to 4 weeks prior to the event for a fee. Please see official Registration Policies for complete information.

DAY OF THE EVENT

CAN I REGISTER AT THE EVENT?

WILL THERE BE A BAG CHECK?

Yes. Participants will be allowed to check one bag at the event. Drop off on your way in, and pick up on your way out. If you have a spectator with you, consider letting them hold your bag to minimize waiting in line. No re-check permitted. Spectators will not be allowed to check a bag.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS OR VIDEOS?

Of course! Take as many snaps and selfies as your heart desires! We will have various photographers at each event. Our photographers will have a vest on.  You can also feel free to use our Photo Op locations to take cool photos to share on Facebook / Instagram / Snapchat. Because each event varies, we suggest bringing a friend to make sure you get all the awesome photos you want.

WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

The safety of our guests is our #1 priority. In event of inclement weather, or situations that may pose a threat to our guests, the Race Director reserves the authority to postpone, or cancel the event. In this situation, please refer to our official Registration Policies.

CAN I BRING PEOPLE WITH ME?

Yes! The more people you bring the better! Start your team here!

WILL THERE BE WATER ALONG THE COURSE?

Yes. Mud Challenger has Challenge Checkpoints with water for drinking. There is at least two checkpoints on each course.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear clothes that you can get muddy (or ruined). You must be appropriately covered. You must have shoes on at all times. As far as fashion advice, we suggest some awesome socks or a costume!

WILL FIRST AID BE AVAILABLE?

Yes. We have a first aid tent and stand-by ambulance at every event produced by Fathom.

HOW DO I CLEAN OFF?

Mud Challenger partners with the local fire department at most events to provide participants with a nice cold shower after you’ve tackled our grueling course. Bring a towel. After you’ve cleaned up a bit, be sure to stick around for our signature After Party. 🙂

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

Your signed waiver. Your government-issued photo ID. Cash for parking. See event page for details. Cash for extra swag and food.

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

Exact parking details are listed on each event page.

SPECTATORS

WHAT SHOULD SPECTATORS BRING?

A photo ID and your waiver is required for check-in. Feel free to bring a foldable chair, sunscreen, sunglasses, and extra cash. We recommend leaving valuables at home.

HOW MUCH IS A SPECTATOR TICKET?

Spectator pricing for Mud Challenger is usually $5 in advance or $10 on site. Check your event page for complete details.

HOW DO I REGISTER A MINOR SPECTATOR?

Spectators 14+ should be registered online. Parents will need to provide a waiver for each minor spectator at check-in. Children under the age of 13 and under will be admitted with an adult.

DO SPECTATORS NEED TO SIGN A WAIVER ALSO?

Yes. Due to liability reasons, all spectators and participants must provide a signed waiver at check-in.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS?

Of course you can! You can also use our Photo Op locations to take badass photos to share on Facebook.

I can’t attend the event. What are my options?

Defer your entry:

If you are unable to attend the event you have registered for, you may have the option to Defer your registration to the next event. Here’s how:

  1. Launch the Registration Center.
  2. Click Transfer My Registration.
  3. You will need to log-in.
  4. Click Defer Registration.

 

Transfer to a Friend:

If you are unable to attend the event you have registered for, you may have the option to Transfer your registration to someone else. Here’s how:

  1. Launch the Registration Center.
  2. Click Transfer My Registration.
  3. You will need to log-in.
  4. Click Transfer to Another Runner.

Please take note of the types of transfers, paid and gifts.

Donate your Entry:

If you are unable to attend the event you have registered for, you can donate your registration so that a Wounded Warrior or Veteran can participate in your place.
